AMESD Steering Committee is composed of representatives of the Regional Economic Communities, the ACP Secretariat, and the African Union Commission. The European Union Delegation to the AU and international partners from EUMETSAT, JRC, UNECA and UNEP are observers in the Committee.

Addis Ababa (sometimes spelled Addis Abeba, the spelling used by the official Ethiopian Mapping Authority; Amharic, Adis Abäba "new flower, is the capital city of Ethiopia and the African Union and its predecessor, the OAU.
