The proceedings of the 1st AMESD Forum which was held in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo from 1st to 4th December 2009 on the theme
"Towards a Pan African Partnership and Networking for the monitoring of the Environment by Satellite in African"
are now available on the Forum web site.
These proceedings include a synthesis report summarizing the outcome of the discussions and presenting the 4 main recommendations related to
- the continentalization of the AMESD Program;
- the importance of the national component for the programme sustainability;
- the possible and wished liaison with the academic community and;
- the programme sustainability in order to keep the momentum, to secure the investment and keep the material updated and performing, to maintain the vitality of the networks put in place and the keep the right motivated African and European human resources and partners fully mobilized.
The proceedings also include all the presentations performed during this fruitful 1st AMESD Forum.
